The Bradenton area is a little beat up as well. It looks like a popular retirement area from the 70’s and 80’s that has fallen into disrepair since. Once you travel over the bridge and head toward the beach everything changes, the beach is beautiful with unlimited free parking. Heading north you find some gift shops and beachfront food establishments with a "come and relax on the beach” kind of vibe. Traveling south is a seashore adventure. The road winds through a string of islands that don’t meet the mainland until you reach Sarasota. The area is very pretty and it is the perfect top down coastal drive.
Jody Nichols decided to join us and we pick her up at the Sarasota Airport. I didn’t even know Sarasota had an airport. It is very easy to get to and a little larger than Worcester.
