Karl, Ellen and I pack up the bikes and head to Nickerson on Friday late morning. They check us in and we head toward our site. We are definitely the largest unit in the park. Our site actually turns out to be perfect for the motorhome, we fit in easily and are fairly level. Marie drives down after work and arrives around suppertime.
Friday night and all day Saturday turn out to be a little drizzly so we just hang around the campground and go for a few walks whenever the rain lets up a little. We build a campfire but it is smoldering and smoky from the dampness. The weather clears on Sunday and Marie, Karl and I grab our bikes and head out to the Cape Cod Rail Trail. We go east to Harwich and then back.
We pack up Sunday afternoon and head home. The Cape Rail Trail is fun but a campground with no electric, water, or sewer is not much fun on a rainy weekend.
