Our big stop on this run is Phoenix so we can spend some time with the Jahns… Gordy, Jill, Trevor and Kyle. We did get to see them earlier in the summer in Michigan at Amy’s wedding but now we get to chill out, enjoy a few meals together and watch some football. Go Pats! Brady is on suspension but the backup quarterbacks and the rest of the team are doing just fine. The Jahn’s are Arizona Cardinals fans and are hoping for a great season from their local team.
We are staying at The Motorcoach Resort in Chandler, Arizona. It’s a really nice, brand new RV Park right near the highway. It is a unique resort with just 32 campsites, no office or buildings, no recreation area or activities. The office is at a storage facility across the street and it is designed as a nice place to stay as you’re passing through. We like it, it has room for the motorhome and trailer, it’s quiet, and it’s close to all the shopping and activity that Chandler offers.
We roll out of the Phoenix area and head for Texas. This is familiar highway as we travelled this way last year on our way toward Florida. As we roll eastward we’ll stop at different places along the way to get a feel for the local flavor. Places like Butterfield RV Resort in Benson, AZ, featuring its own star gazing observatory telescope. What a unique, educational and interesting way to spend an evening.
