We have come to Hudsonville, Michigan to join in the celebration of marriage between Amy and Nick. OH MY, Leslie’s oldest daughter is getting married! This is so exciting. This is the first wedding of the new generation of the Jahn family.
The Jahn family are my only cousins and unlike the MacLeod family that all settled in Leicester (well, except for my sister Holly who moved all the way to Charlton), the Jahns are scattered all over the United States. There is nothing like a wedding to bring them all together and we want to join in the fun.
We got to meet the Groom, Nick, the day before the wedding as several of us ventured to Holland, MI for a nice lunch. Holland has a wonderfully vibrant downtown atmosphere that is just perfect for our gathering. In addition to chatting with Amy and Nick, we also got to spend some time with the Maid of Honor, Emily, Leslie’s other daughter. It was wonderful to chat with her and it is clear that she is as excited about the wedding as the happy couple is.
It is Saturday morning and an absolutely perfect day for an outdoor wedding. The sun is shining, the wind is calm and the venue is a wonderful outdoor farm and pavilion that hosts informal weddings and events all summer long. The bride, groom, and the entire wedding party looked stunning and the bride’s parents were beaming with joy throughout the entire event.
We enjoyed a wonderful brunch under the pavilion and particularly loved being with the cousins and their families. Later in the day, we took a great family photo, sent the Bride and Groom on their way and the rest of us headed off to the beach on Lake Michigan for a relaxing afternoon.
On Sunday, we all gathered again in Howell, Michigan and spent a relaxed afternoon with Aunt Joan and all the cousins and the grand-cousins. (Grand-Cousins? well, you know what I mean)
