Our punch list is very short and repairs are all pretty minor and the Newmar Service department handles us very quickly and efficiently in just a few hours. Unfortunately, we need to stay the week because Ellen's CoPilot chair needs to go back to the factory for repair and will take til the end of the week to get back.
While we are here, we have decided to bring the coach to the local Freightliner chassis repair center for a punch list of three items on the drivetrain. Freightliner was not quite as efficient as Newmar at handling our issues. They only tied up the motorhome for half a day but did not successfully complete any of the three items requiring service. One, they claim is a Newmar issue, another needs special order parts that would take a week to get, and the last issue they thought they fixed but the problem still continues. Luckily these are non critical issues and we will deal with them down the road again.
The best part of our time here at Newmar has been hanging out with some of the Hoots. Many of the Hoots have stopped here for service as they head back home from our gathering in Michigan. We have gone out to dinner several times and even met up with a local couple that are Newmar owners and went to dinner with them.
Friday afternoon finally comes and Newmar has re-installed Ellen's co-pilot seat and we are ready to head down the highway. Next Stop, Albuquerque, New Mexico, but along the way we are going to get a taste of Historic Old Route 66.
